NASHVILLE, Tenn. — After sweeping the competition in Buies Creek, N.C. and a two-week break from competition, the Vanderbilt swim team looks forward to diving back into action this weekend for the squad’s final races before the holiday season.
Vanderbilt (3-4) squares off against a field comprised of five other notable programs, which include host school Georgia, and SEC powerhouse Auburn. Florida State, Virginia and Penn State will also be traveling to Athens, Ga. and are sure to give the Dores additional experience leading into second half of the season, which begins in January.
VU’s sophomore class continues to excel in the pool as the crew across the board, taking 16 podium finishes in the last two races. Summer Brown, Kara Lucenti and Breanna Sapienza all have back-to-back first place wins in the 200 free, 200 breast, and 100 fly respectively.
VU has also earned invaluable points from their combined efforts in the relays, placing 13 times this season.
