Vandy Golf Fashion Featured by Golfweek.com 10/23/2005 The Vanderbilt women’s golf team is trail-blazing a new fashion style and it is receiving national attention. Coach Martha Richards Freitag colloborated with UnderArmor last summer to design an original golf jersey that has the player’s name and a number of her choosing on its back. The Commodores wear these jerseys on the final day of each tournament, much the same way Tiger Woods has become known for his red shirt-black pants Sunday look. These jerseys were unveiled on the final day of our own Mason Rudolph Championship and they created enough buzz that Golfweek’s senior writer Jay Coffin has compiled photos along with an interesting feature on the team and its fashion statement. Commodore fans will want to check out the story, the jerseys and be sure to vote on the Golfweek poll, which asks if you like Vanderbilt’s new look! Here is the link: |
