NASHVILLE and BATON ROUGE — The Vanderbilt tennis teams open the 2007 NCAA Tournament on Friday, May 11, with the women playing host to Murray State in Nashville (1 p.m. CT) and the men facing Tulsa in Baton Rouge, Louisiana (1 p.m.)
Friday’s action in Nashville begins at 10 a.m., with Tennessee taking on Tulsa. The Commodores and the Racers follow in the afternoon, with the winners of those two matches scheduled to face off on Saturday.
The Commodore women are hosting an NCAA Regional at the Brownlee O. Currey Jr. Tennis Center for the ninth consecutive season, and hold a 16-0 record in the past eight years in home postseason matches.
Play in Baton Rouge starts with LSU and Alcorn State playing at 10 a.m. at the W.T. “Dub” Robinson Stadium before the Commodores take on Tulsa in the afternoon.
Saturday’s matches, which both begin at 12 Noon, is for the right to advance to the Sweet 16 in Athens, Georgia.
