- This is the 115th year of Vanderbilt basketball, with the first season taking place in 1900-01. There were no teams in 1904-05 and 1905-06.
- Vanderbilt improves to 1-0 all-time against Radford after the first meeting between the two schools.
- This was the first time head coach Bryce Drew had faced Radford in his career.
Team Notes:
- Tonight was Vanderbilt’s 1,006th straight game with a three-point field goal. The Commodores are just one of three schools to have made a three-point basket in every game since the inception of the three-point line in the 1986-87 season. The others are Princeton and UNLV.
- The Commodores started Saben Lee, Riley LaChance, Joe Toye, Jeff Roberson and Djery Baptiste for the first time this season.
- Vanderbilt had a 20 plus point scorer for the third game this season after Riley LaChance scored 27 in the win.
- The Dores shot 74.2 percent (23-31) from the free throw line. It was their sixth straight game shooting over 70 percent from the line.
- It was the third game this season they have made 20 or more free throws.
- The Commodores won the rebounding battle 37-34 over the Highlanders. It is the fifth game this season they have out-rebounded their opponent this year.
- The Dores tallied double-digit assists for the fourth game this season after having 10 against Radford. They are 3-1 in those games.
Player Notes:
- Riley LaChance had a career night against the Highlanders. He scored a career-best 27 points and was 10-for-10 from the free throw line.
- It was the fifth 20-point game of his career and the most points since he scored 24 on Dec. 29, 2016, against LSU.
- LaChance also added a season-best five rebounds and two steals.
- Jeff Roberson tallied 14 points and nine rebounds against Radford. It is his sixth double-digit point effort this season and fifth game with eight or more rebounds.
- Joe Toye tied a career-high with two steals. He also added a season-best four rebounds.
