- The Commodores trailed early, 2-0, but a three by John Jenkins put the Commodores up for good. After leading 9-5, VU went on a 12-2 run to push its lead to 21-7.
- Vanderbilt shot 68.0% in the first half from the floor, their best first-half percentage of the year, and their best half of shooting so far this season.
- Jenkins led Vanderbilt with 11 first-half points.
