Vanderbilt Linebacker Moses Osemwegie Featured in SEC-TV Special Thursday

Vanderbilt junior linebacker Moses Osemwegie, the Southeastern Conference’s second leading tackler, will be featured in this week’s SEC-TV weekly magazine program.

The SEC-TV feature, devoted to Osemwegie’s upbringing in Nashville and his accomplishments as a Commodore, will air Thursday at 5:30 p.m., CT on FSNSouth throughout the Southeast.

Osemwegie, a graduate of Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, also was the subject of a feature during Jefferson-Pilot’s pregame show before the Vanderbilt-Georgia game last Saturday.

Osemwegie has been the Commodores’ most consistent defensive performer this season.  Osemwegie has picked up where he left off in 2003, when he topped the Commodores in tackles as a sophomore.  Through six games, he is averaging 9.7 tackles an outing, second only to Florida linebacker Channing Crowder in the league.

Osemwegie also shares the team lead with three tackles for loss and connected his first interception of the season last week at Georgia.  He has topped double digits in tackles in five of Vanderbilt’s six games.

The segment reveals a quiet and humble Osemwegie who plays in memorable of his late father, who passed away a few years ago from Lou Gehrig’s disease.  SEC sidelines expert Dave Baker reports on the Commodore standout and how his father’s life has molded him into not just the player, but the man he is today.

SEC-TV is a live weekly, half-hour program dedicated to Southeastern Conference that originates from FSN South’s Atlanta studio.  It is hosted by two-time Emmy Award winner Dave Neal and Jenn Hildreth.
