Nashville, Tenn. – What do a multi-award winning country music star, a well-known Nashville entrepreneur, a former president of two volunteer organizations and a music label VP all have in common? In addition to being some of the most caring individuals in Middle Tennessee, all four are committing their efforts over the next 30 days to rally friends of Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital and make history by breaking all records in raising funds with a single day sporting event!

September 15th is the date and Vanderbilt vs. Ole Miss football is the place where Kix Brooks of Brooks & Dunn, Mary Lee Bartlett, former president of both Junior League and Friends of Children’s Hospital, Christie Hauck, former Vanderbilt football player and founder of The Christie Cookie Company and Royce Risser, former Vanderbilt football player and Vice President of National Promotion-MCA UMG Nashville, hope to make history by selling out all tickets to this annual football competition! Vanderbilt Athletics has generously agreed to donate half of all ticket proceeds to Children’s Hospital’s Children’s Fund, providing outreach and programs to patients and families receiving care at the non-profit facility.

Kickoff for the Vanderbilt-Ole Miss game, slated for Dudley Field at Vanderbilt Stadium, is 6 p.m.

Beginning August 20th, the entire community will be challenged to help us make history by selling game tickets and taking part in the competition! The top 3 sellers and three guests each will be invited to enjoy the fun in the Field Level Hospitality Tent on game day, receive halftime recognition and receive a pair of tickets to the Rascal Flatts concert Sept. 21 at the Sommet Center. Those selling 25 or more tickets will receive a tin of Christie Cookies personalized and autographed by Kix Brooks. For sellers of 10 or more tickets, a Vanderbilt prize pack, including t-shirt, koozie and pom poms, will be awarded.
