- This is the 115th year of Vanderbilt basketball, with the first season taking place in 1900-01. There were no teams in 1904-05 and 1905-06.
- Vanderbilt is now 4-6 all-time versus Kansas State and the series is tied 3-3 in Nashville.
- This was the first time head coach Bryce Drew had faced Kansas State in his career.
Team Notes:
- Tonight was Vanderbilt’s 1,007th straight game with a three-point field goal. The Commodores are just one of three schools to have made a three-point basket in every game since the inception of the three-point line in the 1986-87 season. The others are Princeton and UNLV.
- The Commodores started Saben Lee, Riley LaChance, Joe Toye, Jeff Roberson and Djery Baptiste for the second straight game.
- The Dores had 10 threes made for just the second game this season after hitting 10 or more in 18 games last year. They were 10-for-25 (40%) from behind the arc against Kansas State.
- Vanderbilt had a 20-plus point scorer for the fourth game this season after Jeff Roberson scored a season-high 22.
- The Dores shot 69.7 percent (23-33) from the free throw line. It ended a six game streak of shooting 70 percent or better from the line.
- It was the fourth game this season they have made 20 or more free throws.
- The Commodores won the rebounding battle 33-21 over the Wildcats. It is the sixth game this season they have out-rebounded their opponent.
- The Dores tallied double-digit assists for the fifth game this season after having 12 against Kansas State. They are now 3-2 in those games.
Player Notes:
- Jeff Roberson scored a season-high 22 points against Kansas State, one point shy of his career high.
- Roberson also hauled in 10 rebounds for his SEC-leading fifth double double of the season.
- Saben Lee scored 18 points, also one point shy of his career high.
- Lee set career bests from the free throw line with 12 made and 17 attempts.
- Djery Baptiste corralled a career-high nine rebounds in his fourth start of the season for the Commodores.
- Joe Toye recorded his first double-digit scoring game of the season with 10 points against Kansas State.
