Vanderbilt continues strong play at Commodore Scramble

Vanderbilt continued its strong play at the Commodore Scramble on Saturday, with several Commodores advancing to the finals in their respective brackets. Each of the three championship matches on Sunday will feature Vanderbilt players, as four Commodores remain unbeaten in singles play and No. 16 Billy Rowe and Lachlan McPhee are also 2-0 in doubles matchups.

In total, six Vanderbilt players will be competing in championship matches on Sunday. Billy Rowe and No. 25 Daniel Valent both advanced to the championship in the ‘A’ singles draw, while the ‘B’ singles championship match will feature Vanderbilt freshmen George Harwell and Maxwell Freeman, who are both undefeated to begin their Commodore careers. Rowe will also be in the doubles championship competing with McPhee against Louisville’s George Hedley and Federico Gomez.

Action will resume on Sunday at 9 a.m., beginning with the final round of doubles matchups, and then followed by the championship round of singles at approximately 10 a.m. to conclude the tournament.
