Vanderbilt Head Coach Robbie Caldwell
“I’m very disappointed we started off like game busters, got after them pretty good and made some things happen and unfortunately had some bad things occur. You drop a ball or you don’t get rid of a ball and you get a safety any number of things can happen and we had a lot of them come at the same time and wasn’t able to overcome it.”

“We tried just about everything we had and just shot ourselves in the foot. We dropped balls and fumbled and we ran an unbalanced line three times in a row and it parted like the red sea.”

“We used the same game plan for all four quarters and they did a good job stopping it. It was us stopping ourselves or Arkansas stopping us.”

Vanderbilt Quarterback Larry Smith
“The first quarter I thought we did an excellent job moving the ball, but after that we just started going downhill on offense.”

“It was hard for our defense to slow them down. Our offense kept going three and out and the defense was on the field constantly, and really took a toll on them. They were tired and we just couldn’t get anything going.”

Arkansas Head Coach Bobby Petrino
“This was a good win for us today. We won it the way we should have. We made some mistakes early on in the first half, but we were able to shut them down in the second half. Overall, I was very pleased with how we played.”

“Games like this challenge your maturity and poise. You don’t want to have a letdown after a game like last week. I thought we prepared like we should have all week and prevented having a letdown this week, which I thought was very possible.”

“We can’t have penalties like we had in this game. That would be the only negative to take away from this game.”

“Scoring points on special teams and defense is huge for us. It really helps us when the second half rolls around and helps us close out games.”

“Ryan Mallett was focused all week. He came out today and really read the defense well and threw the ball well also.”

Arkansas WR Jarius Wright:
On his preparation for this week
“The coaches depended on me with Joe Adams out and Greg Childs limited. I felt like everyone was depending on me and that I needed to go out there and make some plays.”

On his gameplay
“I wasn’t really too tired, but more dehydrated. I didn’t hydrate myself very well during the week. I’ve got to do a better job of that so that I can complete the game.”

Arkansas LB Jerry Franklin:
On a rough start
“We had to settle down and play our assignments better. If you do that, everything else will take care of itself. We weren’t communicating at first and they took advantage of that. We weren’t disciplined either, but we took care of that and finished with a solid game.”

Arkansas CB Rudell Crim
:
On the multiple QB’s
“The first quarterback could do more with his feet. He could scramble and force you to bite down on the fake and then hit you with a deep ball. The second quarterback was more of a drop back, pocket quarterback. We could kind of tell what they were going to do when he came in.”

On Arkansas’ offense
“I think a lot of Mallett and the receivers. Every day those guys push each other, because they all know that if somebody goes out that they have to step up and fill in. I think they did a good job of preparing all summer and this year to play when they were called on.”
