The Commodores will play future football series with the Purdue Boilermakers and Georgia State Panthers.
Vanderbilt will play a home-and-home series with both teams. The Commodores will face Purdue of the Big Ten Conference on Sept. 7, 2019 in West Lafayette, Ind., and host the Boilermakers on Sept. 8, 2029. Vanderbilt and Georgia State are scheduled to play in Atlanta on Sept. 28, 2024 and in Nashville on Sept. 20, 2025.
The Vanderbilt-Purdue game in 2019 will be the first between the schools since the World War II era. The Commodores are 2-0 all-time against the Boilermakers, notching a 3-0 win at Purdue on Sept. 27, 1941 and registering a 26-0 victory in Nashville on Oct. 3, 1942.
Vanderbilt has never faced Georgia State, who became a Football Bowl Championship (FBS) member in 2013 as a member of the Sun Belt Conference. In 2015, the Panthers finished 6-7 and made their first postseason appearance in the AutoNation Cure Bowl held.
Vanderbilt expects to announce several more future opponents in coming weeks.
Vanderbilt has recently announced future series with Kansas State (2017, 2020), Stanford (2021, 2024, 2025, 2027) and Northern Illinois (2019, 2022).
