Singles Draw | Doubles Draw | Qualifying Draw
The men’s tennis team hosts the USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships at the Currey Tennis Center Oct. 16-19. The tournament will showcase the best collegiate players in the region from 23 schools.
Nine ranked singles players are amongst the field, with Vanderbilt’s Gonzales Austin being the highest ranked player at No. 9. Along with impressive singles rankings, the tournament will also host the No. 13 ranked doubles team in the country, Sam Monette and Daniel Bednarczyk, out of Indiana.
On Wednesday afternoon tournament qualifiers will begin at 2 p.m. with winners advancing on to the main draw. Main draw doubles begins Thursday morning at 8 a.m. with singles following after. At the conclusion of round one of singles tournament play, round two will begin.
The Commodores have four student-athletes competing in qualifiers Wednesday, Tate Allwardt, Pen Binet, Jeffrey Offerdahl, and Ryan Smith. The rest of the Commodore squad will begin tournament play Thursday.
Scoring Format:
Qualifying Singles: Best of 3 sets; No-ad scoring; tie-break at 6 all; match tie-break for 3rd set
Main Draw Singles: Best of three sets; no-ad scoring; tie-break at 6 all
Main Draw doubles: Eight game pro set; no-ad scoring; tie-break at 7 all
SF and Final round – best of three sets; no-ad scoring; tie-break at 6 all; match tie-break for 3rd set
