Vanderbilt placed 23 student-athletes on the 11th-annual American Lacrosse Conference Academic Honor Roll, which celebrates academic excellence during the 2011-12 school year. Commissioner Craig Barnett recognized a list of 123 student-athletes from the ALC’s member schools Thursday.
Student-athletes who maintained a GPA of 3.0 or better during the 2011-12 academic year were eligible for the Honor Roll. Appearing on the list are eight members of the ALC All-Conference first team — including 2012 Vanderbilt graduate Ally Carey — and 10 members of the ALC All-Conference second team — including rising senior Paige Cahill.
Vanderbilt and Northwestern led all ALC schools with 23 honorees each. NCAA semifinalist Florida and Johns Hopkins both claimed 20 student-athletes, Ohio State had 19 student-athletes so named, and Penn State had 18 honorees.
