A three-day tournament which is scheduled to be played Friday, Saturday, and conclude on Sunday at the UNC Finley Golf Course.
“We’re excited to tee it up this weekend in Chapel Hill against some teams we haven’t seen this year,” head coach Greg Allen said. “It’s another strong field and my expectations for our young ladies will be to play hard and play with confidence.”
Under Allen, Vandy has consistently finished among the top-10 teams when competing at The Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational. Allen directed the Commodores to their best finish at this particular tournament in the 2013-14 season with Jennifer Hahn leading the way individually.
Tess Davenport, Ariel Yu, Louise Yu, Celina Sattelkau and Virginie Ding will compete for the Dores this weekend.
The Commodores will compete against seventeen teams as well as six student-athletes competing as individuals. “I’m thrilled to get Celina back in the lineup even if it’s not a completely healthy Celina,” Allen said. “If there’s one thing that I know about her is that she will give us everything she has until she can’t give anymore.”
“We are playing without Auston Kim this weekend as she prepares for the second stage of LPGA Q School. This will be a big opportunity for her teammates to step up.”
