The Intercollegiate Tennis Association released its most recent set of rankings on Tuesday following the ITA Fall National Championships, which took place earlier in the month. Vanderbilt’s Daniel Valent, Lachlan McPhee and Billy Rowe were each listed by the ITA as one of the top players in the country.
Valent (11-2) is ranked No. 50 on the list for men’s singles play following a string of strong performances during the fall season. Valent began the fall on an 11-game win streak, which included titles at both the Commodore Scramble and the ITA Ohio Valley Regional. The regional title earned Valent a berth in the inaugural ITA National Fall Championships, where he fell in the round of 64 to fourth-seeded Skander Mansouri of Wake Forest.
McPhee and Rowe (8-3) are now ranked No. 36 in the men’s doubles rankings after reaching the sweet sixteen in the ITA National Fall Championships before dropping a match to No. 7 Robert Loeb and Jan Zielinski from Georgia. McPhee and Rowe advanced to the round of 16 by defeating Stetson’s Colter DeCoste and Linus Bergevi in the tournament’s opening round.
Vanderbilt tennis will return to action on Jan. 12-14 for the Longhorn Invitational in Austin, Texas.
