Three All-American Status

Soccer earns the most all-american bids in single season for the program

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt soccer earned three All-American honors from the United Soccer Coaches Association on Friday afternoon, setting the most nods by the program in a single season. Hannah McLaughlin and Sydney Watts earned first time while keeper Sara Wojdelko earned second team.

McLaughlin, who was named a MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist and USC All-Region First Team, started in all 24 contests for the Commodores in a season that saw the program’s first-ever Elite Eight appearance. Out of Cummings, Georgia, McLaughlin anchored a defense that registered 14 shutouts, the most since the program record was set at 15 in 2005. The Dores’ defense allowed just 14 goals, the least amount since 2013. McLaughlin was named All-SEC First Team and College Sports Communicators Academic All-District.

Watts, who was named a MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist and USC All-Region First Team, started all 24 matches for the black and gold and registered over 2,500 minutes of action. The junior led the SEC in goals, finishing with 16 for the year and dishing three assists for a career-best 35 points. Out of Lenexa, Kansas, Watts’ 16 goals are tied for the second-most goals in a single season in the program, while 35 points are tied for sixth. The 2025 SEC Forward of the Year led the conference in points, goals, goals per game and shots. Named All-SEC First Team, Watts earned SEC Player of the Week honors twice and was selected to TopDrawer’s Midseason Top 100 Players.

Wojdelko, the SEC Goalkeeper of the Year, started 23 matches for the Dores this year, earning over 2000 minutes in goal. The graduate from Northville, Mich., posted a career-best 58 saves on the season to bring her career total to 147 which is ninth all-time in Vandy’s record books. Wojo tallied 11 clean sheets on the year, third most in a single season in program history and finished with 22 for her career which is also third. A team captain this season, allowed only 13 goals, boasting a .57 goals-against average, fifth-best in a single season.

This year’s All-Americans will be recognized for their accomplishments at the United Soccer Coaches All-America Ceremony & Reception on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, in Philadelphia, Pa., in conjunction with the United Soccer Coaches Convention.
