Attendance: 38,725

Vanderbilt moves to 6-5 overall with the 20-10 loss to Tennessee. The Commodores finished with a 4-4 mark in Southeastern Conference action.

First Half
– With 14:11 left in the first quarter, DB Myron Lewis intercepted UT QB Jonathan Crompton’s first pass attempt at the UT 34-yard line. It was Lewis’ fourth interception of the year, second on the team behind D.J. Moore’s six-INT total. The Commodores were unable to turn the miscue into points.
– Trailing 10-0 in the second quarter, Josh Allen gave the Commodores excellent field possession with a career-long 33-yard kickoff return. Three plays later, Vol DB Eric Berry produced a big play for Tennessee, taking an interception 45 yards for a touchdown to give UT a 17-0 margin.
– The Vanderbilt offense did little before intermission. The unit produced just three first downs and 25 total yards while being held without points for the third time this season. The unit also allowed three turnovers – two interceptions and a fumble – which Tennessee turned into 10 points. The Commodores also produced just three rushing yards.

Second Half
Bryant Hahnfeldt capped off the opening drive of the second half (14 plays, 53 yards) with a 31-yard field goal. Jeff Jennings had 18 yards rushing on four carries on the drive and Mackenzi Adams was 4-of-7 for 36 yards.
Reshard Langford’s 42-yard interception return for a touchdown (his first career return for a TD) at the 4:20 mark in the third quarter cut the deficit to 20-10. The return was a career long, besting the 33-yarder he had against South Carolina earlier this year.
Chris Marve forced a fumble and recovered it at the 11:45 mark in the fourth quarter, ending a UT threat inside Vanderbilt territory.

Final Notes
Ryan Hamilton recorded a career-high 16 tackles. His previous high was 13 against Florida.
Chris Marve ended the game with nine tackles, a sack, two tackles for loss and a forced fumble and recovery. The two tackles for a loss were a new single game high.
Reshard Langford’s interception in the third quarter was his third interception of the season and 11th of his career. That ties him with Christie Hauck (1967-69) and Manuel Young (1980-84) for sixth best in school history.
– For the first time in his Vanderbilt career, D.J. Moore started at DB and WR. He finished with two catches for 32 yards. He also had eight tackles on defense including 2.5 for loss, a new single game season high.
John Stokes made a career-high five tackles, besting his previous high of four against Florida this year. Theron Kadri also had a career-high five tackles, his previous best was four against Auburn this year.
Mackenzi Adams finished with 18 completions, his highest total of the season. His career high is 20 completions against Kentucky last year. His 38 attempts is a new career-high. He had 32 attempts at Georgia this year and at Florida a year ago.
George Smith finished with five receptions for 46 yards, both season bests.
Jeff Jennings had a season high seven rushes. He also had three catches for 23 yards which were also season highs.
Gaston Miller’s 15-yard reception at the 12:20 mark in the third quarter was a career long, besting his previous mark of 12.
– Vanderbilt finishes its home campaign with a 3-3 record.
