The #3-ranked Vanderbilt men’s golf team, fresh off of a win at the Nike Collegiate Invitational a week ago, return to the course at another prestigious event, this time at the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational in Windermere, Fla, at the 7,544-yard, par-72 Isleworth Golf and Country Club this Sunday through Tuesday. This year’s field will feature five of the top nine teams in the latest Golfstat.com rankings.

Vanderbilt, who came from behind to defeat Florida in the Nike Collegiate at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, is hoping to build on that momentum in another stellar field. The Commodores will compete against #1 Illinois, #6 Texas Tech, #7 Florida, #9 North Carolina, UCF, Arizona, California, Arizona State, New Mexico, Purdue, North Texas, North Florida, and UAB.

“The guys always enjoy this tournament and this course because of its tradition of great players,” said Vanderbilt head coach Scott Limbaugh, who captured his 11th team tournament of his career at the Nike Collegiate. “I always look forward to this tournament because I think it challenges your game and your ability to stay focused on the shot at hand. Isleworth demands that you are able to think and show some discipline in how you play. We want to show the same competitive character this week that we had the last time we played, but our focus has really just been on getting a little better each day. We have to continue to have the right actions and right focus if this team wants to be as good as it can be.”

Teeing it up for Vanderbilt this week are senior Matthias Schwab, junior Theo Humphrey, sophomores Will Gordon and Patrick Martin, and freshman John Augenstein.

Eighteen holes will be played each day with play beginning at 8 a.m. ET all three days, and live results can be found throughout the week on Golfstat.com.
