NASHVILLE, TENN. – Vandy swim travels to Huntington, W. Va. as they take on Marshall and Xavier in a tri-meet on Saturday at 1:00 pm CT.
“Were all looking forward to competing with Xavier and Marshall tomorrow”, said head coach Jeremy Organ. “We have had a great couple of weeks of practice in between our last meet”
The Commodores have swam well against Marshall in recent years, accumulating a five year win streak. The closest victory came in the 2009-10 season when the `Dores edged the Herd by two points in Huntington.
Last season Vandy secured three first place finishes, all from student-athletes who have returned for the 2014-15 campaign. The squad hopes to continue its previous success against Marshall on Saturday, boasting several first place finishes this season in the 100-yard breaststroke, 100-yard butterfly, and relays.
Tomorrow’s meet will be the first time the Commodores and Xavier Musketeers have competed in Vanderbilt swim history.
