Jacksonville, Fla. –

Vanderbilt sped past the North Florida Ospreys Thursday afternoon, winning all 11 events in their dual meet en route to a decisive 151-53 win at the Semmes Aquatic Center in Jacksonville, Fla.

Nine different swimmers found the top podium spot in the meet, to go along with six second-place and five third place finishes for the Dores.

Sophomore Paige Hamilton, Junior Johanna Goldblatt, and Senior Breanna Sapienza lead Vanderbilt with three wins a piece. Goldblatt sprinted her way to a win in the 50-yard freestyle, Sapienza won the 100-yard butterfly, and Hamilton took first in the 100-yard freestyle. All three women also finished first as part of the 400-yard medley relay and 200-yard freestyle relay.

Freshman Hannah Hunt and Sophomore Selah Peacock both won two races, and four other Vanderbilt swimmers won one race each.

Hunt’s two wins continued the theme from the Kentucky dual a week prior, as the Vanderbilt freshmen saw multiple top-three finishes. Lara Hernandez-Tome and Reagan Roob both won a race, and earned a second and third place finish, respectively.

Lindsey Gordon and Lauren Bergmann had a second-place finish each, and Kaley Buchanan earned a third-place finish.

Head Coach Jeremy Organ was very pleased with his team’s outing, as well as the positioning of his relays.

“I thought we did a great job of racing today,” said Organ. “I really liked having [Goldblatt] in the 100 back as the lead for the medley relay.”

The Dores now take a brief break from competition, before their home-opening dual against Arkansas on November 4 at the Centennial Sportsplex at 1 p.m. Organ’s game plan is to continue training during the extended break.

“We’re looking forward to a couple of weeks of training now,” said Organ. “It’s important for us to stay healthy and keep challenging ourselves and improve every day.”
