KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Two Commodores competed in the Las Chance Meet to close out the 2010-11 swim season for the Vanderbilt program. The event took place in Knoxville on Friday and Saturday at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center.

Betsy Galenti swam a personal season-best time in the 50-yard freestyle when she finished in 24.89, improving by .09 off her previous best set at the SEC Championships last week. The swim also marked the fourth fastest time of any Commodore swimmer this season. The sophomore also swam the 100 freestyle in 54.57, her second-fastest time of the year.

The other participant was Chelsea Morey who finished the 100 backstroke in 59.46 and the 200 back in 2:08.73. The backstroke swimmer also swam some freestyle events for the first time this season. Morey completed the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 26.34 and the 100 freestyle in 54.47.

“The girls did well,” said head coach Jeremy Organ. “Betsy [Galenti] and Chelsea [Morey] really enjoyed themselves. It was good to race and have fun.”
