NASHVILLE, Tenn. Â The Vanderbilt swimming and diving team returns to action on Friday as it travels to Tuscaloosa, Ala., for the first time since 1992 for a double dual meet against Southeastern Conference foes Alabama and LSU.
“It’s going to be a difficult challenge to go down and compete with Alabama and LSU,” Vanderbilt head coach Jeremy Organ said. “It should be a pretty exciting atmosphere to be in and a very good experience for the girls. It will be a good learning experience for the SEC Championships in February.”
The Commodores were last in action two weekends ago, with dual meets against North Florida and Georgia Southern. Freshman Leigh-Ann Axt won all four individual races she competed in over the two meets, and was a member of the winning 200-yard freestyle relay team.
Alabama is coming off a sixth-place finish at the SMU Classic. The Crimson Tide is 2-0 in dual meets this year after dispatching of Georgia Tech and Clemson. Meanwhile, LSU is 2-1 in dual meets on the season, defeating South Carolina and Delta State and falling to Georgia.
Complete results of the double dual meet will be available on vucommodores.com.
