FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Vanderbilt swimming and diving team lost a dual meet to the Arkansas Lady `Backs on Saturday, falling 195-38 at the Arkansas Natatorium.
The Commodores were led by freshman Leigh-Ann Axt who won her 13th race of the season in the 200-yard freestyle, recording a time of 1:53.86, a second and a half quicker than the second-place finisher, Jamie Marks of Arkansas. Axt also finished second in the 200-yard butterfly, finishing the race in 2:03.82.
Fellow freshman Jennifer Molchan had a third-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle. Molchan had a time of 54.51. Tifanie Silver of Arkansas won the race with a time of 53.08.
Vanderbilt returns to action next Saturday as it travels to Atlanta for its final regular season meet to face Georgia Tech and Emory in a double dual meet.
