The Dores travel to Auburn for SEC championships

NASHVILLE, Tenn.— The Commodores travel to Auburn, Alabama for the SEC Men’s Tennis Championship tournament this week. Finishing 12th in the SEC, Vanderbilt will face 13th-seeded Arkansas on Wednesday at noon. The Dores opened SEC play defeating the No. 31 Razorbacks by a score of 4-2 at home on March 2.

Commodores
The Dores conclude the season with a 7-16 overall record, having gone 6-8 in home play and 2-10 against SEC opponents. Vanderbilt closed out regular season play falling 4-1 to No. 46 LSU in Baton Rouge.

Vanderbilt comes to the tournament sitting at No. 71 in the ITA national rankings, with Dores Jeremie Casabon and Siim Troost holding the No. 19 doubles ranking.

Razorbacks
Arkansas (12-14, 0-12) enters postseason play after a 4-0 loss to Tennessee last weekend. Winless in regular-season conference play, the Razorbacks seek their first SEC win of the season in matchup against the Dores.

In the latest ITA national rankings, Arkansas sits at No. 74, and Razorback doubles pairing Adrien Burdet and Melvin Manuel fall at No. 78.

SEC Tournament History
The Commodores are challenged with reaching the second round of the SEC tournament for the third straight year, having fallen in the opening match the previous two tournaments: In 2022, No. 13 Alabama defeated No. 12 Vanderbilt 4-3; in 2021, No. 12 Arkansas beat No. 13 Vanderbilt 4-0. Before that, the Dores skipped the first round of the tournament for two consecutive years and won their second-round match to reach the SEC quarterfinals.
