NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt tight end Eli Stowers has once again been named to the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award honorable mention list for his performance in the Commodores’ win over Ball State.
It’s the second time this season Stowers has been named to the weekly list for the honor, which is given annually to the best offensive player in college football who has ties to Texas. Stowers is also on the watch list for the award.
Stowers had eight catches for 130 yards and a touchdown in Vandy’s victory over the Cardinals last Saturday to move to 5-2 on the season. Of his 130 yards, 95 came after the catch.
On the season, the Denton, Texas, native leads Vandy in receiving with 33 catches for 463 yards and two touchdowns.
Stowers and the 25th-ranked Dores return to action Saturday, hosting Texas at 3:15 p.m. on SEC Network.
