NASHVILLE, Tenn. — More honors have come in for Eli Stowers, with the Vanderbilt tight end recognized as a preseason first-team All-America selection by both Athlon and Phil Steele.
Stowers was also named a Walter Camp Football Foundation preseason first-team All-America earlier this month.
Last fall, his first with the program, the Denton, Texas, resident recorded team-high totals with 49 receptions for 638 yards and five touchdowns as he was selected third-team All-America by Phil Steele and voted first-team All-SEC. Stowers finished with three 100-yard games on the year, highlighted by a career-best 133 yards after catching six passes to help the Commodores beat top-ranked Alabama, as his season yardage total was the second highest posted by a Vanderbilt tight end since the 1996 campaign.
The graduate student had at least one catch in all but one outing last season as his efforts helped the program post a 7-6 overall record after defeating Georgia Tech in the Birmingham Bowl.
Stowers and the Dores will kick off 2025 against Charleston Southern, with the Aug. 30 contest scheduled for a 6 p.m. start at FirstBank Stadium. Season ticket and mini-plan information for Vanderbilt football is available here.
