NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt football’s Eli Stowers is a semifinalist for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award it was revealed by the organization’s selection committee on Thursday.
The honor is presented each season to the top offensive player in NCAA Division I football who exhibits the enduring characteristics that defined Earl Campbell including integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive and community. It is limited to individuals born in the state of Texas, or those who attended a Texas high school, junior college or university.
Commodore fans are able to vote for Stowers for the award at www.earlcampbellaward.com beginning Friday at noon and ending Sunday at 3 p.m. Five finalists will be named on Dec. 9 and the winner of the honor will be announced on Jan. 21.
Stowers is also a finalist for the 2025 William V. Campbell Trophy® and John Mackey Award—the winners of both are scheduled to be announced next week—and is a semifinalist for the Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Award as well. The graduate student from Denton, Texas, was a semifinalist for the 2025 Lombardi Award™ this fall too.
During the regular season, Stowers led Vandy with 62 receptions for 769 yards and scored four touchdowns including recording 100-yard games at No. 20/19 Texas and in a win over Auburn the following week. He finished with multiple catches in every game this fall with a team-high total on six occasions and had the most receiving yards on the squad in four contests, as he will enter the postseason needing just six yards to post the most by a Dore tight end since 1996.
Stowers leads all tight ends in the country in receiving yards and number of catches resulting in a first down, and he is also second in total receptions. His career-best 146 yards in the matchup with the Longhorns are the second-highest total recorded by a Power 4 tight end this fall as well.
His efforts have helped the Commodores post the first-ever 10-win season in program history while also setting a school record with six SEC victories. Vanderbilt enters the postseason in the top 15 in the College Football Playoff rankings and the Associated Press and AFCA coaches’ polls.
