Rich McNeil

Associate Director • Development

Rich McNeil joined Vanderbilt Athletics as associate director of development for the National Commodore Club in January 2024.

He came to Nashville after working nearly two years as a leadership gifts officer at Bates, where he also served a stint as a gift officer from 2015-18.  McNeil also has experience as assistant director of operations and compliance at the University of Chicago and was a facility manager at Harvard’s Malkin Athletic Center.

McNeil began as an assistant track and field coach at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Springfield College, and Tufts University.

He received his undergraduate degree in music in 2010 from Bates, where he lettered all four years in both football and track and field. In addition to earning NESCAC Outstanding Male and Rookie Performer honors during his career, McNeil was a three-time All-American in the hammer throw. He would go on to add a master’s degree in athletic administration from Springfield in 2014.

McNeil and his wife, Meredith, reside in Nashville.
