Gavin Walker

Associate Strength Coach (Track and Field, Cross Country, Men’s Tennis)

Gavin Walker, Vanderbilt’s associate strength and conditioning coach, is directly responsible for the strength and conditioning efforts for the men’s tennis, cross country, and track and field programs.

Prior to joining Vanderbilt, Walker spent five years as an assistant sports performance coach at Arizona State. He primarily worked with beach volleyball, indoor volleyball, and the men’s and women’s swimming programs. In addition to coordinating and directing in-season and offseason training regimens for the Sun Devils, Walker also directed the department’s internship program.

In Walker’s tenure at Arizona State as a graduate assistant, he assisted with football and worked directly with cross country, triathlon, and track and field.

Prior to Walker’s graduate assistantship at Arizona State, he completed internships at both Arizona State and Clemson.

A 2015 graduate of Aurora with a degree from the health and human performance department, Walker was also student-athlete on Spartans’ men’s basketball team. Walker received his graduate degree from Arizona State in 2017.

He holds certifications through the NSCA (CSCS), USA Weightlifting (USAW L1), Precision Nutrition (PN1), first-aid, CPR and AED (American Red Cross Association).

Walker is a native of Clarksville, Tennessee.
