VUCommodores.com is back with another look at the continuing progress being made on upgrades at Vanderbilt Stadium.
If you’ve tried to take a peek inside lately, you can tell it again looks like a football field. Workers have sewn-in the logos, lettering and hashmarks, while work is wrapping-up on the coaches boxes and press/photographer restraining lines.
After all the markings are in place on the field, workers will begin laying the sand and rubber that give the Legion 46 synthetic turf a more grass-like feel. This will be one of the last steps as we gear up for the South Carolina game on August 30.
In addition to the playing surface, work continues on the new seating area in the north endzone and the new video board. The most noticeable part of the work is the brickwork nearing completion around the seating area, and the addition of some of the “sail” signage with the Star-V logo.
