Garry Christopher
Strength and Conditioning Coach
Garry Christopher joined the Commodores as men’s basketball’s new Strength and Conditioning coach in the summer of 2013.
Christopher joined the Vanderbilt staff after spending one season at Purdue.
Christopher comes to Nashville after working with the Purdue athletic department as a sports performance assistant. He oversaw the sports performance program for softball and women’s tennis, while assisting with the men’s basketball program.
Christopher previously served as a volunteer graduate assistant in the strength and conditioning department at San Diego State. He was also a strength and conditioning intern at the Rehab United Sports Performance and Physical Therapy Center in San Diego, while simultaneously serving as head strength and conditioning coach at Lincoln High School.
Christopher received a bachelor’s degree in health and human performance from Baylor in 2008 and a Master’s in kinesiology from San Diego State in 2011. While working toward his Master’s, Christopher served as an instructor of musculoskeletal fitness and an instructor for beginning and advanced students in weight training. He played basketball at LeTourneau University during the 2003-04 season.
Christopher is a USAW sports performance coach.
