Rivers made four appearances at quarterback as a first-year graduation student… Among four Commodores that saw action at the quarterback position during the season… Completed 25-of-63 passes for 334 yards on the season… Earned starting assignment against Ole Miss in relief of injured starter Patton Robinette… Completed 12-of-25 passes for 186 yards in opener vs. Temple.

COLLEGIATE CAREER AT LSU (2011-13)
Rivers participated in four games during a three-year career at LSU, playing behind standout Tiger QB Zach Mettenberger during the 2012-13 seasons… Appearances came as a redshirt freshmen in 2012…

HIGH SCHOOL
Three-year starting QB at two North Alabama high schools… After starting as a sophomore at Austin HS in Decatur, transferred to nearby Athens HS for junior and senior seasons… Threw for more than 3,300 yards and 35 TDs as starter at Athens, helping AHS to pair of state playoff appearances… Earned MVP honors after leading Alabama squad to win in 2010 Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic… Also started for Athens’ basketball squad.

ACADEMICS
Rivers has two years of eligibility remaining after enrolling this summer in Vanderbilt’s divinity school to begin postgraduate studies. He completed a business-rlated undergraduate degree from LSU last May.

Stephen Gunner Rivers… Born Nov. 14, 1992… Married the former Emily Stephens in May 2014… Son of Steve and Joan Rivers… Has two siblings: Philip and Anna… Brother is an elite NFL quarterback, starting for the last eight years with the San Diego Chargers… Dad enjoyed success as a head football coach at three schools in North Alabama: Austin HS in Decatur, Athens HS and Pelham HS.
