Director of Operations

Matt Britain enters his fourth year on the Vanderbilt staff. Britain was promoted to Director of Operations in September 2016 after serving two years as Assistant Director of Football Operations.

Britain helps oversee and direct the daily management of the Vanderbilt Football program:
• Ensure cohesion within the program; players, coaches, strength and conditioning, sports medicine, personnel/recruiting, video, equipment, player development, academics, compliance, marketing, facilities, sponsorship, and athletics administration
• Direct program travel and logistics and oversee related contract negotiations
• Coordinate game day operations
• Budget and calendar planning/scheduling
• Vendor and partner contract negotiation
• Food and beverage
• Facility maintenance and new project development
• Special events
• Annual camps, clinics and meetings
• Liaison to the university, the university athletic department, local partners and vendors, alumni, player and staff families, and local & state law enforcement
• Full compliance with all NCAA and University rules and regulations
• Any additional items as assigned by the head football coach

Britain was a student-athlete for Ohio University, playing center and guard from 2008-10 for the Bobcats. While at Ohio, Britain also served as a football operations assistant from 2010-13.

After leaving Ohio and returning to the Atlanta area, Britain was in private business until accepting the Vanderbilt role.

A native of Marietta/Kennesaw, Ga., and a graduate of North Cobb HS, Britain earned a Bachelor’s degree from Ohio University in Sport Administration in 2012. Britain and his wife, Stefanye, live with their German Shepherd, Zeus, in Nashville.
