Marcus played in all 12 games and earned 10 starting assignments at tight end… Was team’s most consistent blocker from the tight end position… Finished the year with seven receptions for 68 yards and a touchdown… Opened the season with two catches in win at Middle Tennessee… Last reception was a career-long 27-yarder vs. Kentucky… Had a seven-yard touchdown at Florida… Started 27 games in 48 appearances as a Commodore… Concluded career with 28 catches, 231 receiving yards and four touchdowns.

2016
Marcus earned 12 starts at tight end while playing in all 13 games… The fourth-year player became a more complete tight end during the season while establishing new career highs for receptions… Marcus ended the season with 11 catches and 73 receiving yards, both new single best… Most important play of his career came in team’s road win at Western Kentucky when he caught a 5-yard touchdown pass in overtime to provide the Commodores’ game-deciding touchdown… Had receptions in each of team’s first six games… Posted multiple catches against Florida, Kentucky and Ole Miss.

2015
Marcus saw action in 11 games at tight end… Earned starting assignment in multiple TE formations against Georgia and Texas A&M… Ended the season with four receptions, good for 34 yards… Posted catches against SEC opponents Ole Miss, South Carolina, Missouri and Tennessee.

2014
Marcus played in all 12 games as a first-year contributor on the Commodore offense… Earned starts against South Carolina, Georgia and Old Dominion – in multiple tight end formations… Concluded season with six receptions, good for 56 yards and two touchdowns… All of his receptions came in the team’s last six games… Set season bests with three receptions, including one for a score, in victory over Old Dominion… Also had a 9-yard touchdown catch at Missouri… First career catch, a 25-yarder vs. Charleston Southern, was his longest of the season.

2013
Marcus did not see action as a true freshman… Added strength in the weight room while impressing as a practice squad tight end.

Three-year starter and two-way contributor for one of nation’s elite prep programs… Named first-team All-State by Illinois Coaches Association and Chicago Tribune after helping 2012 Hitters’ squad to 14-0 campaign and 7A state championship… Team ended season ranked No. 20 in USA Today national prep Top 25 poll… In 2012, named team’s MVP after posting 56 catches for 939 yards and eight touchdowns as tight end, and 25 tackles and eight sacks as DE/LB… Also earned First Team All-Conference as a senior… In 2011, contributed 30 receptions and six touchdown catches… Helped team to 34-3 overall record as starter… Has earned varsity letters in basketball and track & field.
