McCrary started seven games at quarterback for the Commodores, and saw action in three more during his third year on campus… Alternated with freshman Kyle Shurmur during a three-game midseason stretch before giving way to Shurmur for closing games… Set several single-season passing highs, including 146 completions, 267 attempts and 1,533 passing yards… Passing total ranks No. 4 all-time by Vanderbilt sophomore QB… Ranked 10th in the SEC in total offense, averaging 171.9 yards… Also ran for 227 yards and two TDs on 70 carries… Set team single-game record for passing accuracy in win over Austin Peay, hitting 28-of-33 passes (84.5 percent) for 368 yards and two TDs… Also passed for 295 yards against Georgia… Helped spark fourth quarter comeback win at Tennessee by scrambling 29 yards for late score… Opened the year by accumulating 275 total yards — 217 passing and season-high 58 rushing yards — in opener against Western Kentucky.

2014
McCrary was one of four Commodore quarterbacks that saw action during the 2014 season… Participated in seven games, earning starting assignments in the team’s final five games… Concluded the season completing 78 of 152 passes (51.3 percent) for 985 yards and nine touchdowns… All season totals topped the team’s quarterback corps… Season was highlighted by sensational performance in win over Old Dominion, tying school record with five touchdown passes after hitting 20-of-29 passes… 281-yard passing total vs. ODU also marked team season high… ODU effort also earned McCrary SEC Freshman of the Week honors… Completed 17-of-31 passes for 186 yards and two touchdowns at Missouri… Posted season rushing totals of 36 yards on 22 carries.

Spring 2013
Enrolled in Vanderbilt last January and participated in spring drills as prospective quarterback… Did not play during his freshman season on campus.

High School
Senior captain at Cedar Grove… Concluded career as leading passer in DeKalb County history, posting staggering career pass stats: 567 of 831 (68.2%) for 9,025 yards and 78 TDs… Guided team to three straight AAA playoff berths… As senior at Atlanta school, was 203 of 270 (75.2%) for 2,927 yards, 25 TDs and just nine INTs, earning First Team All-State and Atlanta Journal-Constitution “Super 11” honors… Also surpassed 300 passing yards in five games as senior… Participated in postseason U.S. Army All-American Bowl… Achieved rarity by earning AAA All-State QB recognition for three straight years.
