A postgraduate student at Vanderbilt’s Owen School of Management, East capped off an outstanding four-year career by garnering several postseason accolades… Started all 12 games handling all of team’s snapping chores… Maintaining snapping responsibilities for all 51 games of his career… Contributed three tackles in punt coverage… Named finalist for the Wuerffel Trophy that honors superior combination of athletics, academics and commercial service… Named to prestigious 11-member Allstate-American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) national FBS Good Works Team… Team’s representative to the SEC Good Works Team… Also invited to participate in the postseason Reese’s Senior Bowl scheduled in late January.

2013
East ranks among the Southeastern Conference’s most versatile snappers, blending superb technique with the athleticism to cover in punt coverage… Handling all of team’s snapping chores for the third consecutive season… Played in all 13 games during the season… Commodore punters and kickers benefited from East’s work, with Carey Spear converting 15-of-19 field goals and Taylor Hudson averaging 42.9 yards as a first-year punter… East also contributed four total tackles in punt coverage.

2012
East continued to perform in superb fashion as the Commodores’ primary snapper for the second consecutive season… Saw important action in all 13 games… Both of Vanderbilt specialists, Carey Spear and Richard Kent, benefited from East’s work: Carey set a new school record with 20 field goals, Kent set a career high with a 44.9-yard punt average… Earned credit for two tackles covering punts… Named team’s representative to the SEC Football Community Service Team for his off-the-field work.

2011
As a first-year contributor, East handled all of the Commodores’ snapping responsibilities… Received postseason Public Service Award from coaches… Credited with three tackles… Also had key role in one of the team’s most exciting plays of the season, catching a 35-yard pass from punter Ryan Fowler on a fake punt to convert a 4th-and-long situation against Georgia.

2010
East redshirted as a freshman, using the time to get stronger in the weight room… Showed potential as versatile snapper in fall practices.

Team captain… Three-year starter on defense and special teams for 5A Indianapolis area school… As senior, contributed 64 tackles and seven QB sacks as first-year starter at DE… As sophomore and junior, started at LB, posting 110 tackles as a junior… Named All-Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference… Also started as long snapper for three straight years… Named to the postseason Indiana North-South All-Star Classic… Lettered in varsity rugby… Outstanding scholar-athlete who received Indiana Academic All-State honors.
