2008
Played in every game for the Commodores, seeing action as reserve linebacker and on special teams… Played eight games at linebacker, finishing season with eight total tackles… Had pair of tackles against both South Carolina and Wake Forest.

2007
Saw action in every game as redshirt freshman, contributing on special teams and as a reserve outside linebacker… Contributed eight total tackles, including six solo stops… Posted two tackles in season opener vs. Richmond.

2006
Redshirted as a freshman… Participated as scout team linebacker.

High School
Team captain as senior… Three-year starter at linebacker and quarterback… Guided Hornets to 2A state playoffs each season… As senior LB, garnered 148 total tackles, three INTs and three fumble recoveries… Credited with more than 350 tackles in three-year career… Amassed 2,500 yards of total offense as QB during junior and season seasons, rushing for more than 10 TDs… Two-time First Team All-State and three-time All-Conference pick… Multi-sport standout for Hazen… Starting forward on basketball squad… All-Conference pitcher and third baseman in baseball… Three-year letter winner in track & field, having qualified for state 400 finals as freshman.

‘Nathan sure meant a great deal to our football team. He did just about everything for us, and did a great job in all areas.

‘We played Nathan at quarterback and linebacker. At a bigger school, he may not play quarterback, but he did a great job for us. On defense, he is plenty aggressive, likes to hit people, and really does well stopping the run. Our defense was kind of get out of the way and let Nathan play.’
