Physical tackler struggled with injuries in redshirt freshman campaign… Played in 11 of 12 games as safety and special teams contributor… Opened season with three starts at strong safety, but lost role after suffering shoulder injury that limited action for nearly a month… Concluded season with 30 total tackles, including 20 unassisted stops… Posted career-highs in solo tackles (10) and total tackles (12) in opener vs. Northwestern… Also forced two fumbles in the Northwestern game… In next game, added five tackles vs. LSU… Contributed six tackles in late-season loss at Kentucky.

2009
Did not see action as first-year safety candidate… Missed two months of contact drills after suffering ligament injury in right hand during preseason camp… Named team[apos]s Defensive Scout of the Week after Kentucky game.
