After deciding to return for a fifth season during summer conditioning, Johnson played in 11 games, seeing action as reserve inside linebacker and special teams contributor… Played in 48 games during Commodore career… Finished with four total tackles.
2008
Played in all 13 games, contributing as a reserve linebacker and coverage ace on special teams… Finished the season with five total tackles, most coming from special teams duty… Posted two key special team tackles in Music City Bowl victory.
2007
Played in 11 of 12 games, missing the [apos]Dores[apos] encounter with Alabama… Served as reserve linebacker behind All-SEC performer Jonathan Goff and key member of team[apos]s coverage units… Shared team[apos]s Specialist of the Week honors after two-tackle effort in narrow loss to Georgia… Also recorded pair of tackles in season-opening win over Richmond.
2006
One of Commodores[apos] top special team coverage players, Johnson saw action in 11 of 12 games, missing the finale due to suspension… Was credited with six tackles, including five solo stops, on the season… Saw limited action at outside linebacker… Solo tackle of Ole Miss kickoff returner Dexter McCluster during opening play of game was one of top Commodore hits of the season.
2005
Redshirted as freshman… Worked as linebacker during fall practices.
High School
Team captain… Three-year starter for Eagles… Started at TB/LB as a sophomore and junior, then moved to DE/LB as a senior… Missed three games in 2004 due to foot injury, but returned to finish campaign… Recorded 295 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and nine sacks during prep career… Two-time first team All-County selection… Selected to Birmingham News[apos] All-Metro Team… Lettered on varsity basketball squad as sophomore.

Christopher Aaron Johnson… Son of Michael and Janice Marie Johnson… Dad is CPA and colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve; mom is registered nurse… Johnson earned undergraduate degree in Economics in May 2009 and is currently working toward a postgraduate degree in Finance… He is a two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll recipient…Member of the National Honor Society… Joins classmate, tackle Scott Deaton (Alabama) as first D-I scholarship athletes in six-year history of school… Selected to ‘Who[apos]s Who Among American High School Students’… Involved in FCA activities.

‘Chris was slowed by an early season injury, but he came back and played through it to really help us. Chris has good speed and a really strong upper body.
‘Chris is especially good getting off blocks and attacking the quarterback off the corner. He showed a lot of heart and maturity last year coming back to our squad after the injury. He is healthy right now and really looking forward to competing next season.’
