Played crucial role in lone performance of season… In closing minutes of Commodore season finale, Johnson replaced injured placekicker Bryant Hahnfeldt, successfully converting extra point in Vanderbilt victory over Tennessee… Conversion forced Volunteers to score touchdown on final drive, a possession that ended with Vanderbilt interception by Jared Fagan.

First year as primary kicker for field goals and extra points… Started strong, converting five of first six field goal attempts, including 44-yarder at Navy… Struggled in last five games of season, missing five of last 11 extra point tries and six of last eight FG attempts.

Served as team[apos]s placekicker for three games during second half of season… Concluded season converting nine of nine extra point attempts and one of two field goals… First collegiate action came at South Carolina, making three extra point tries… Made first field goal attempt (37 yards) at Florida… Missed 32-yard attempt later at Florida.


High School
The top kicker in school history, Johnson holds numerous state prep records in Alabama, including career kicking points (243), career extra points (198) and consecutive extra points (99)… Broke state record for consecutive extra points as sophomore and senior… Made seven of 11 field goal attempts as senior, including 51-yarder… As senior, sailed 87% of kickoffs into or through the end zone… Named All-State in 2001, All-Region and All-District 1999, 2000 and 2001… Team reached playoff quarterfinals in each of three varsity seasons… Four-year letterman in football.

Johnson is majoring in Human and Organizational Development. He is a 2003 SEC Academic Honor Roll recipient.
