NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt men’s tennis hosted its final doubleheader of the season on Saturday. The Dores topped the Bulldogs 4-3 but fell short to the No. 26 Gators 4-3.
Fall to Florida
The Commodores started the day off strong with Nathan Cox and Michael Ross claiming a quick 6-1 doubles victory on Court 2. The Dores then clinched the double point as Jeremie Casabon and Siim Troost won Court 1 by a score of 6-4. After today’s victory and last week’s 6-0 win over No. 11 Trent Bryde and Ethan Quinn of Georgia, Casabon/Troost hold a 5-2 doubles record on the season.
Florida rebounded, picking up three-straight points from winning straight sets on Courts 1, 2 and 3. Vanderbilt then gained some momentum back as Casabon won two-straight sets of his own on Court 5, 7-6(7-3), 6-3. The Dores grabbed a second doubles point with Troost’s efforts on Court 4. He topped his Gator opponent after three sets: 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. The match ultimately came down to Court 6, where Macsen Sisam fell in straight sets. Florida won the match 4-3.

Beat Butler
Vanderbilt kicked off match two of the doubleheader clinching the second doubles point of the day with Cox/Ross winning 6-0 on Court 2 and Sisam/Klopper taking Court 3, 6-2. The Dores’ momentum carried into singles play with Troost, Klopper and Ross each winning straight sets in their respective singles matches. After finishing out the remaining singles matches, the Commodores won by a score of 4-3.
