BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Former Vanderbilt track and field and soccer athlete Simone Charley has been named to the Southeastern Conference’s 2019 Class of Women’s Legends.
The highly-decorated Charley is the school record holder in the outdoor and indoor triple jump, a three time NCAA All-America first-team choice in indoor, two-time NCAA All-America first-team selection in outdoor, outdoor second team All-America, USTFCCCA All-Academic selection, indoor All-SEC second team selection and 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-District selection.
In soccer, the Hoover, Alabama, native also was a SEC All-Freshman team selection, two-time All-SEC second team member, first team selection, two-time All-South Region selection, 2017 second team All-Southeast Region selection by United Soccer Coaches and a four-time SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll member.
The class showcases former student-athletes and coaches from all 12 member institutions.
The class will be honored at the 2019 SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament (March 6-10) in Greenville, S.C.
