The Vanderbilt women’s soccer team has added a ninth signee to their 2011 incoming class, welcoming Michigan native Kirsten Evans to the Commodore family.
Evans has been a three-year starter for Coach Matt Gasperado’s squad at Farmington High. In her career with the Falcons, Evans has scored 54 goals and added 37 assists.
The 5-7 midfielder was an honorable mention All-State selection in high school for a Farmington team that won the district championship. Through her junior season, Evans has been a two-time All-Observer selection.
On the club side, Evans is the captain for Coach Adil Salmoni Michigan Hawks. The Midwest Region champions have been ranked as high as fourth in the nation. Evans also has been involved with the Olympic Developmental Program.
Aside from her soccer prowess, Evans also is an accomplished basketball player. She competed for Farmington’s varsity squad and for the Michigan Motion AAU side.

Daughter of Karen and John Evans… Has three siblings: Alissa (26), Lindsey (22) and Teagan (12)… Lindsey was an All-American soccer player at Embry Riddle… Father ran track and played football at Wittenberg University… Grandfather ran track at Ohio State… Cousin, Carl Moore, played football at Vanderbilt in the 1960s… Interested in sports medicine and business.
