Personal:Kathryn Elizabeth Thimons… Prefers to be called “Keegan”… Born Born Jan. 6, 1994, in Fairfield, Ct…. Daughter of Molly and Jim Thimons… Has two older siblings: brother, Colin (29), and sister, Reilly (27)… Brother attended Boston University, while sister went to Miami University… Interested in a pre-med major with a minor in psychology.
Coach Greene on Thimons:
“What we were trying to do with this class of 2012 was create a lot of athleticism, and Keegan certainly fits that mold. What’s exciting about Keegan is that her work ethic is tremendous, and her willingness to learn is tremendous. All the coaches that we talked to said she truly wants to develop and progress to the highest level she can. I think that we’ll see a lot of development throughout her career. She has the ability to take her game to the next level, which can only help us be better as well.
“When I saw Keegan play before her junior year, the first thing I noticed was her overall athleticism. She has really good size and the ability to cover a lot of ground with good speed. I saw her do some good things in the air, as well, winning balls from her center back position.
“While Keegan is coming in as a defender, I think she has the opportunity and the skill set to play at either center back or outside back, and even defensive mid. She has the right mentality to offer that sort of versatility. She’s improving on the ball with her skill, and coupling that with her athleticism, having her play in the middle under pressure would be something we could even look at when she gets here.”
