Soccer Signees: Gena Inbusch

Meet the fourth Vanderbilt women’s soccer signee: Gena Inbusch from the Columbus, Ohio area.

Gena InbuschInbusch has been a four-year starter for Upper Arlington High School under the direction of coaches Mark Wise and Bob McGee. As a sophomore, she helped lead McGee’s Golden Bears to the Ohio Division I semifinals. Now coached by Wise, the team has returned to make the final eight and final 16 of the state tournament the past two seasons.

In her career at Upper Arlington, Inbusch has scored 28 goals and added 31 assists to power the squad to a 60-2-9 overall record. She has twice been named to the All-Ohio Capital Conference team and also was tabbed a Central Ohio All-Star as a senior.

The 5-10 forward has played her club soccer for Coach Chris King’s Ohio Premier Eagles since 2004. That team won a State Cup in 2007 and were regional finalists each of the next two years. In 2009, the Eagles were champions of the Buckeye Premier League. Inbusch has also participated in the Olympic Developmental Program since 2008.

An outstanding student at Upper Arlington, Inbusch comes to Vanderbilt with scores of International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement experience on her academic resume. She is planning to major in psychology.

Personal: Genevieve Marie Inbusch… Born Nov. 5, 1992, in Sao Paulo, Brazil… Daughter of Catherine and Ted Inbusch… Has two older brothers, Matthew (25) and William (22)… Father played basketball at Williams College… Brother Matthew rowed crew at Colgate University… Intends to major in psychology.
