This week we head to the state of Texas to meet three more Commodore soccer signees. First up, a defender/midfielder from Frisco, Texas: Ashley Vega.

Ashley VegaVega has been a four-year starter for Frisco Wakeland under the direction of coaches Kim Colon and Meagan Wilson. She has led the Wolverines to back-to-back district championships by earning 18-4A All-District honors both seasons.

Vega and Brittanie Barbero, a teammate at Frisco Wakeland teammate and fellow VU signee, helped lead the team to the district semifinals in 2009. Last season, Vega was named a team captain for a Wolverine squad that made it to the district quarterfinals.

Vega plays her club soccer for Coach Dawn Crow’s FC Dallas 93 side. Prior to her time with FC Dallas, Vega had played for Shawn Cantrell’s Dallas Texans 94 since 2007. That squad won a Region III title in 2009 and advanced to the national championship.
