NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt soccer shutout Texas A&M on Thursday night, 6-0 to mark the seventh win of the season. Junior Rachel Deresky led the pack scoring two goals on the night.
Freshman Ella Eggleston registered the Commodores first score of the night after a blocked shot from Texas A&M’s keeper Grace McClellan bounced back to Eggleston who found the back of the net for her fourth goal of the season.

Three minutes later, freshman Courtney Jones served a downfield ball to Addie Porter who crossed to Deresky to put the Dores up 2-0. Vanderbilt went on for one more score in the half when senior Abi Brighton connected off a pass from Alex Wagner to put Vandy up 3-0 at the break.

Out of the break, Porter scored her third goal of the season from a long ball from Courtney Jones. Porter went one-on-one against McClellan and netted Vanderbilt’s fourth goal of the night.
Deresky posted her second goal of the night in the 57th minute, tallying for the second time in her career with multiple goals.

“We recruited her because she is a goal scorer,” head coach Darren Ambrose said of Deresky. “You can go back through the season you will find numerous of her opportunities that just weren’t falling. It’s a goal scorer’s mentality, you just keep going and going and it’ll go through during the season. She is dangerous, you can’t lose her in the box. I’m thrilled for her.”
Sophomore Hannah McLaughlin sealed the game with her second goal of the season off a corner kick in the 80th minute.
Tonight’s six goals tie for the most goals scored this season (6 vs. Middle Tennessee 9.10.23) and are the most goals against an SEC opponent since they scored eight against South Carolina (10.06.00).
Vanderbilt finished with seven corner kicks to Texas A&M’s one, marking the eighth consecutive game that the Commodores have earned more corner kicks than their opponent.
The Dores have outscored their opponent 16-3 in the final frame this season and have the second-most shutouts leaguewide (8, South Carolina).
