Will Matthews’ Feature: Top-10 Class Burnishes VU’s National Reputation
2007 Commodore Soccer Official Signing Class
NASHVILLE, Tenn. –Soccer Buzz tabbed Vanderbilt soccer’s 2006-07 recruiting class as the best in the Central Region and ninth best in the country, the highest ever achievement for the program.
The Commodores added 11 student-athletes, including three Top 75 recruits nationally. The class was the best in the Southeastern Conference and the Central Region according to the Soccer Buzz website. Vanderbilt’s class was rated ahead of Texas, Texas A&M, Tennessee and Kansas in the region.
“We are very excited about our incoming class,” said Vanderbilt head coach Ronnie Coveleskie. “It is an honor to be ranked in the Top 10 along side the powerhouses of women’s soccer. This class will once again help take us one step closer to our goals of winning conference and national championships. This recruiting class is filled with talent, athleticism and the competitive spirit that winning championships requires.”
