Soccer players named to All-Region team

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Molly Kinsella and Megan Forester both earned All-South region honors as released by the National Collegiate Soccer Coaches Association of America recently.

Kinsella, who just completed her junior season, was named to the second-team as a midfielder, while Forester was named to the third-team as a senior defender.

“Both Molly and Megan had great years for us and really provided us stellar play and leadership in our run into the SEC tournament,” said Vanderbilt head coach Ronnie Woodard. “I am happy that they were named to the All-South region by the NSCAA, recognizing their achievements this year.”

Kinsella earned all-region honors for the second straight season as she finished with a team best in goals (seven) and assists (nine). The Memphis, Tenn., native has led the team in scoring in each of her three seasons at Vanderbilt and is in the top 10 career leaders in goals (21- Tied for 9th) and career points (58- 10th). She finished the year third in the conference in assists and sixth in points (23).

Forester played an instrumental role this season as a team captain and provided leadership in the Commodores late season run to the conference tourney. She scored two goals while also recording a career-best seven assists on the year. Her assist total was fifth best in the league. Defensively she was a stalwart on the backline and helped spark the team to four consecutive shutout wins at the end of the season.
