Nashville, Tenn. – Vanderbilt soccer opens the 2023 season with back-to-back matches at the Vanderbilt Soccer Complex, kicking off Thursday at 7 p.m. against Chattanooga. The Dores will then host UMass on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Chattanooga Mocs
- Vanderbilt leads the all-time series 4-0-0, which began in 2001.
- Last time out, Vanderbilt earned a 3-0 victory with Hayley Hopkins scoring two goals and two saves from Taiana Tolleson.
UMass Minutewomen
- The Commodores hold a 1-0-0 advantage in the all-time series, as Vanderbilt defeated the Minutewomen, 3-1, in Amherst in the two programs’ only meeting in 2017.
2022 Recap
- Last season, Vanderbilt finished SEC play tied for second in the East Division. The Dores went on to the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time in the last six seasons, before being knocked out by No. 12 Northwestern in the second round.
- The Dore return 19 individuals from last year’s roster and has added seven new faces.
- Vandy looks to make up for the lost veteran experience of Raegan Kelley, Peyton Cutshall and Ella Shamburger, who combined for 17 goals and 45 points.

- Five Commodores highlighted the SEC Preseason Watchlist – Maya Antoine, Abi Brighton, Rachel Deresky, Hannah McLaughlin and newcomer Jada Konte.
- Antoine was also named to the United Soccer Coaches 2023 Preseason Watchlist for Defenders.
